MAKEMAP TUTORIAL # -Exploding Walls

PURPOSE: This tutorial will enable you to produce exploding
walls.
CONSIDERATIONS: 1) All SE that will explode must have the same
HI-TAG. In the demo map I used 24. It is my
belief that ANY HI-TAG maybe used as long
as you are consistent. All low
tags must be 13.
2) All Seenine sprites MUST have the same HI-TAG
as the SE. Again I used 24. The LO-TAG determines
when the explosion will occur relative to
the first. I used multiple of 24.So, if you
want to evenly stagger the
explosions use 0, 24, 48, 96 etc. It is my belief
that one may place as many seenine sprites as one
wishes. They may also have the same LO-TAG and need
not be in strict double multiples. Experiment.
3) One must place one SE per exploding wall sector.
View the map example and you will notice four(4)
individual sectors that comprise the wall. Each
has a properly tagged SE.
4) It is best to resize the seenine as small as
possible to render it invisble during gameplay.
5) When placing the crack(sprite 1075)which will
have the same HI-TAG as the seenine and SE I found
that if placed directly on the wall to explode
it may be invisible during gameplay and thus the
wall WILL NOT explode. Reduce your grid to the
smallest selection and place it on the first
gridline away from the wall to explode.
That should do it.
If you have any questions or notice that this is incomplete
by all means fix-it. Nothing is worse than a bum tutorial.
