To make objects that take damage and blow into pieces, such as vases, dead
bodies ( turning into meat chunks ), etc:

Place a sprite in 2d mode. Alt F6 to change the sprite to Type 416 ( Gib
object ). Data 1 and Data 2 both contain data for the appearance of the
pieces thrown off when the object is hit ( this allows up to two different types
of "chunks" to be thrown off by a damaged object ). Data 4 is the number for
the sound the object makes when it gets hit. After hitting ENTER to accept
these values, highlight the sprite and hit Ctrl H to make it hitscan sensitive (
sprite should now be purple ).

A note on Data 3: Data 3 seems to have no functions... I have tried putting in
values for it, even having Data 3 being the only value set, and found it makes
neither sound nor chunk graphics. If anyone figures out what ( if anything ) it
does, please feel free to let me know at bufo@ionet.net. For now, it is a
mystery to me :)

Here is a list containing my interpretation of the appearance of the flying pieces
